A throw of pure new wool with a woven diamond pattern: fine lines that come together in large diamonds, with fringes at both ends.

The diamonds are about 12 cm across and set on the diagonal. Where four of them meet, the lines form a small cross. From across the room the pattern reads calm and even; close up, it comes alive in the weave.

At 300 g/m², “Rune” is light and still warm, the kind of throw you keep within reach all year. Over the arm of the sofa, folded on a reading chair or across the foot of the bed, it brings a quiet pattern and the softness of wool to any room.

The twisted fringes are cream in every colour, which sets off the sage, greige, dark brown and olive beautifully.

It also makes a lovely gift.

130 × 170 cm, plus 10 cm fringes at each end · 100% pure new wool · 300 g/m², about 0.7 kg · Woolmark and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100

Wool rarely needs washing: airing it usually freshens it, marks can be dabbed with cold water, and if it needs more, take it to a professional cleaner.

A little story

The first cold evening

It is the first really cold evening in October. Outside it gets dark early; inside a candle is burning and the tea is still brewing.

You pull the throw off the arm of the sofa, put it round your shoulders and notice how quickly it warms you, without weighing you down. The book stays open on your lap.

These are the evenings we chose our throws for: pure wool, calm colours, and a size you can wrap yourself up in completely.

Pure new wool, tested

100% pure new wool

New wool, made into a product for the first time: no recycled fibres.

OEKO-TEX® Standard 100

Tested for harmful substances, to the requirements for textiles that touch the skin.

Woolmark

The quality mark for wool: pure new wool of tested quality.

Looking after wool

Everyday care

Wool needs very little care. Airing it now and then keeps it fresh and soft.

  • Air your throw now and then outdoors or by an open window, out of direct sun.
  • Give it a good shake so the fibres stand up again.
  • Dab a mark straight away with cold water; don’t rub.

A thorough clean

If it needs more than airing, take it to a professional cleaner. That keeps your wool beautiful for longest.

  • We don’t recommend a washing machine, not even on the wool cycle.
  • No tumble dryer either. Let it dry flat in the air, away from radiators and direct sun.
  • No need to iron. Wool finds its shape again by itself.

Questions about our throws

Short answers on wool, size and care.

What does pure new wool mean?

Pure new wool is new wool: shorn from the sheep and made into a product for the first time, so no recycled wool. Our throws are made of 100% pure new wool.

Is wool itchy?

Wool is softer than many people think, but it is a natural fibre with character: on bare skin some people find it a little prickly. The softest is “Glen”, in lambswool.

Which size do I need?

“Rune” (130 × 170 cm) sits nicely over the arm of the sofa or on an armchair. “Fjord”, “Hytte” (both 150 × 200 cm) and “Glen” (140 × 200 cm) are big enough to wrap up in on the sofa, or to use as a blanket on the bed.

How do I look after my throw?

Usually airing it and giving it a shake is enough. Dab a mark with cold water. If it needs more, take it to a professional cleaner. Please no washing machine and no tumble dryer.

Is there a discount with a sheepskin or cowhide?

Yes. Order the throw together with a sheepskin or a cowhide and you get 15% off the throw, taken off automatically at checkout.
