About us
There are three of us: Leo, his girlfriend and his little sister. Northsheep is a small family business, and every piece in our shop was chosen by one of us.
We choose our hides ourselves
Our cowhides come from Brazil, and we travel there to choose them. We go through the stacks by hand, because a grading sheet tells you about holes and scars, but not whether a hide has the markings you will love on your floor for years. We pick the ones with a beautiful coat, a good shape and a pattern that lies well once the hide is flat.
Our sheepskins are produced in Europe, from British, European and Icelandic sheep, and our medical sheepskins from Australian merino. Our wool blankets, gilets and merino slippers are made in Europe from mulesing-free wool.
We buy direct
No distributors and no agents in between. It takes more work, and it is the reason we can offer real quality at a fair price. When a piece arrives with us, we look at it, measure it and photograph it ourselves.
What you see is what you get
Every hide is unique, so we photograph many of them one by one and measure them flat. For those pieces, the one in the photos is exactly the one that arrives at your door. Our stock sheepskins are hand-picked for you in the size you choose.
One family, six countries
We ship from our own warehouse to customers in the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium, France and Switzerland. Wherever you order, you deal with us directly, and we answer every message ourselves. Our customers rate us Excellent on Trustpilot.
