Buying a one-of-a-kind hide online
Share
Buying a hide online can feel like a leap of faith. With us it doesn’t have to be: our cowhides, reindeer hides and pictured sheepskins are photographed one by one, and the one in the photos is exactly the one we send.
We choose them ourselves
We travel to Brazil to choose our cowhides by hand, looking for a beautiful coat, a good shape and a pattern that lies well once the hide is flat. Back home, we measure every hide and photograph it on its own.
How to read the photos
- The outline. Every hide has its own shape, with the legs and the curve of the back. What you see is the shape that arrives.
- The pattern. Look at where the markings sit and how they flow. That exact pattern is yours.
- The coat. The short hair has a soft natural sheen that catches the light as you walk past.
Natural character
A hide comes from a real animal, so it can carry small natural marks that tell its story. Where a pictured hide has something that stands out, you can see it in the photos, so there are no surprises.
A note on colour
We photograph in daylight. At home, in your light, the shade can look a little different, but the pattern and the shape are exactly what you see.
Stock pieces
Some pieces, like our stock sheepskins and runners, are chosen from a batch in the size you pick. We hand-pick yours, and like every natural piece, it is one of a kind.
