Description
Icelandic Sheepskin Rugs – Long Wool Luxury
Icelandic sheepskins are unlike any other. With their extra-long wool – usually 12–18 cm – they create a striking, fluffy look that instantly adds warmth and style to any space. Draped over a chair, placed on the floor, or used as a throw, they bring a sense of cosy Nordic charm into your home.
The Icelandic sheep is one of the world’s oldest and purest breeds. It was brought to Iceland by Viking settlers more than a thousand years ago and has thrived in the country’s harsh climate ever since. Their wool can appear in up to 17 natural colours, from pure white to rare spotted patterns. For centuries, these sheep provided warmth, clothing and survival for the Icelandic people during long, cold winters.

Sheepskin rugs
The length is measured from the head to the tip of the longest leg, while the width is taken across the widest part of the hide. This means you see both the maximum length and the broadest width.
All sheepskins are measured and then rounded to the nearest 5 cm. For example, 101 cm becomes 100 cm, and 77 cm becomes 80 cm.

Cowhide rugs
The length is measured from the top to the tip of the longest leg, while the width is measured at the widest section of the hide. This gives you the full span in both directions.
Cowhides are measured and then rounded to the nearest 10 cm. For example, 205 cm is rounded up to 210 cm, while 204 cm is rounded down to 200 cm.
